RAWALPINDI: Managing Director, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan, presiding over the high level meeting of PTDC, issued instructions to all the officers that all the PTDC Services should be upgraded to provide better guidance and tourism facilities. He emphasized and directed the officers for the modernization of PTDC Motels, Hotels and Tourist Information Centersbesides asking them for the appropriate advertising of all tourist destinations in the country. Free training is being offered to the employees from the College of Tourism and Hotel Management for Skill Development.
Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor urged the officers of the PTDC’s subsidiaries Pakistan Tours Limited to set special discount packages and organize tourist information seminars in private schools, colleges and universities and also contact multinational companies so that group tourists and families can enjoy their holidays in peaceful environment. The awareness is extremely important for tourism, which needs to be highlighted in the public. Apart from this, reception staff of Lahore Delhi Bus Service should be provided corporate uniforms. We have requested Civil Aviation to provide space for setting up tourist information counter at all International Airport in Pakistan. It is our national duty to work for the promotion of tourism in the country.
MDPTC instructed Manager Flashman’s to promote the current facilities especially the wedding hall, meetings and conferences etc., so that the public can also benefit from appropriate rates.
The meeting was attended by General Manager Ali Akbar Malik, Manager Flashman Ashfaq Loothar, Manager Accounts AbidHussain, Manager Publicity Mukhtar Ali, Manager Motels Amjad Shah, Manager Tours Khalid Satti besides other senior officers.
