Regional Peace & Stability | Tourism to Play Vitol Role; Ghafoor

RAWALPINDI: Managing Director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor, on the fifth day of Iran’s visit, met with Vice Custodian of Holy Shrine of Imam Raza, Agha-e-Bakhtiar. In the meeting, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor Khan said that the secrets of success in life and after life lie in following the preaching of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W) and His Family. Earlier he met with the Deputy Minister of Afghanistan, Prof. Sayeda Mojgan Mostafavi, the governor of eastern Azerbaijan, Dr. Khoda Bakhsh, and the Tourism Chief of Iraq.

The MD said that it is very important for the time that the Muslim Ummah may set aside all differences and make a way to develop along with tourism as well as cooperate with all other areas of life. For the promotion and development of tourism, the Government of Pakistan is providing visa-on-arrival facilities for group tourists. In order to be compatible with the needs of the new world, unity in Muslim countries is essential.

Iraqi Tourism Chief said that every year millions of visitors come to Iraq generating foreign exchange for national exchequer by providing appropriate facilities. Iraqi Tourism Chief also invited MD to visit Iraq.

 Later that day, Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor met Tabriz’s Mayor Iradj Shahin, in which MD said that historical places of the city of Tabriz, gardens and tourist places are very popular in Pakistan.Mr. Baher said that tourism projects on long border and coastal strip between Pakistan and Iran could bring tourism revolution in both countries. Investor’s delegation will visit Pakistan shortly to study the investment opportunities in Pakistan. The MD also invited the Mayor Tabriz to visit Pakistan.
