KARACHI: Professional Institute of Hotel & Tourism Management (POHTM) students and management, celebrated the 71stIndependence Day of Pakistan with full zeal to remember the sacrifices rendered by our forefathers, under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The place of event was beautifully decorated in green and white. Love for the country was apparent from the beginning of the event as the audience recited national anthem in their enchanting voices. Mr. Mansoor Iqbal Siddiqui, Director POHTM in his welcome address, highlighted the importance of freedom and why Pakistanis need to rejoice the fruits of freedom and progress.
The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Iqbal Ahmed Siddiqui (Author of Biography on Quaid-e-Azam and senior journalist) and other honorable guests were Mr. Abdur Rahim Shaikh (D.G NAVTTC Karachi), Mr. Athar Bhutto (Embassy Inn Hotel Consultant), Mr. Nadeem Shaikh Advocate (President of Justice Help Line), Mr. Shahid Akbery (POHTM Instructor of Food Costing) and Mr. Imran Asif (POHTM Instructor of Hospitality Management).
Mr. Bilal Masood, an eminent personality who hosted the event. Students of POHTM carried Pakistani flags in their hands and excitedly participated in the speech and quiz competitions. Students performed on patriotic songs that awakened feelings of all present to work for better Pakistan.
The highlight of the event was the cake-cutting ceremony in which all the guests, staff and students participated with patriotic sentiments and prayers for the prosperity of Pakistan.
