Family Film Festival | ‘Cinema 70’ is Active in Saudi Arabia

JEDDAH: As cinemas prepare to make a comeback in Saudi Arabia, Cinema 70, the kingdom’s first cinema brand is presenting a series of international family movies over the next six days.

The family movie festival, supported by the kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority, runs international family movies at the Jeddah Culture and Arts Society from 4 pm to 12 am, started on Friday, January 12.

The series started with Captain Underpants, produced by DreamWorks Animation, and The Emoji Movie, produced by Sony Pictures Animation.

Organisers said the movies are accompanied by various activities and events thosearealso attraction for the target audience.

Saudi director and producer Mamdouh Salem, who is also the CEO of Cinema 70, oversaw the organisation of the first Saudi film festival in 2006.

Cinema 70 is the first cinema brand in Saudi Arabia to specialise in the production of Saudi film content, and the distribution of international films in the kingdom.

Tickets to the family film festival are available at all Virgin branches and through the ticketing box office online.
