KARACHI: The Hashoo Group – Hospitality Division hosted a first-of-its kind Cuban Food Festival in collaboration with the Embassy of Cuba to celebrate the rich and diverse Cuban culture. The festival was held in Karachi Marriott Hotel on 28th – 29th October 2017.

The event was sponsored by the Turkish Airlines and the Chief Guest was His Excellency Murat Mustafa Onart, Consul General of Turkey who were given a warm welcome by the Senior Management officials of Marriott Hotel.
Guest Chef Gioelkis Sosa Hernandez from Cuba and the Executive Chef of the Karachi Marriott Chef Antonio, along with their teams, worked together tirelessly to give the guests, food enthusiasts and Cuban cuisine lovers from Karachi a taste ofauthentic Cuban food. The finest native ingredients were used to create an exotic menuwith a unique flair. The ethereal delicacies that were served at the festival included chicken fricassee, breaded shrimp, crevettes, enchilada lobster, steak in casserole and many more.
To provide guests with the perfect Cuban experience the Pool terrace of the Hotel was transformed to reflect the vibrant culture and traditions of Cuba and a Cuban performance troupe enthralledthe guests with the rhythms of Havana. A lucky draw consisting of a Turkish Airline return ticket from Karachi to Havana was also done.
A visit to a Cuban festival would be incomplete without garnering knowledge about the world-famous Cuban cigars. For this reason, the guests had an opportunity to learn about the Cuban cigar at a special cigar-rolling ceremony.
