Tourists Safety & Security | GB Tourism Police Gets Bikes & Vehicles

GILGIT: Vehicles and motorcycles were handed over to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Tourism Police at a special ceremony which has been specifically setup to assist and provide security for local and foreign tourists.

Addressing the ceremony, SSP Hunza Tufail Ahmed Mir said that protection of lives and properties of tourists was always top priority of Hunza police. He said the tourism police would be deployed on patrolling at different localities including KKH.

He said the basic purpose for establishment of Tourism Police is to protect local and foreign tourists in order to promote soft image of Gilgit-Baltistan.

SSP Gilgit Raja Mirza Hassan said that Tourism Police will not only provide security to the tourists but also guide them at Nultar, Hainzal Point, Jotial Nullah, Gaasho, Haramosh and Bagrot Nullah areas.

He lauded the efforts of IGP GB Sanaullah Abassi for promotion of tourism in northern areas and said that numbers of tourists have been increased as compare to last year.

He said that Tourism Police would help tourism sector in the province and people would enjoy the fruits of socio-economic uplift.
