KARACHI: From 25th to 29th November 2017, Pearl Continental Hotel Karachi hosted a Turkish Food Festival at Chandni Restaurant. Chef Faruk Aydinand Chef Ersun Gündüzwho are one of the finest in Turkey and work at the infamous Caresse Resort and Spa located in the city of Bodrum flew in to prepare an authentic Turkish – Ottoman cuisine for all their guests. The Turkish Embassy and Turkish Airlines played a vital role in making the event possible.
The five day festival was inaugurated by His Excellency Turkish Consul General Murat Mustafa Onart. The Honorary Consul General of Morocco Mr. Ishtiaq Baig and General Manager of Pearl Continental Mr. Jeffrey Scott Sussman also took part in the inaugural ceremony along with the General Manager and Deputy Director of Sales of Caresse Luxury Resort & Spa, Mr. Makis Antonatos and Mr. AykutAkyuz.
Food enthusiasts and Turkish-Ottoman cuisine lovers from around the city got the opportunity of putting their cravings to rest through a vast buffet arranged for them by the Turkish chefs. The wide variety included Ali Nazik Kebab, Su Böreği, Cheese Begendi Kebab, Mantı, Kazandibi, Aşureand many more Turkish specialties. The guests got the opportunity to witness a glimpse of Turkish culture as the restaurant was decorated in regards to the festival and all the attendees who came from Turkey danced to their local tunes making the event livelier and fun filled.
