Peoples Republic of China | The Consulate Celebrates 68th Anniversary

KARACHI: His Excellency Wang Yu, the Consul General of Peoples Republic of China made a singular gesture to Karachiites by hosting a Reception to celebrate the 68th anniversary of foundation of the People Republic of China at Pearl Continental hotel Karachi on the evening  of Thursday, 21 September.

The consular corp and a large cross section of the city’s elite, including industrialists, businessmen, lawyers, politicians and professionals had responded to the  invitation, making the  event a   very impressive evening.

His Excellency greeted every guests and endeared himself to all by his welcoming remarks; “Good evening! Assalaam-o- Alaikum! First of all, I wish to express my sincere welcome and thanks for your presence. China and Pakistan are good neighbors, good friends, good partners and good brothers. We always trust each other, support each other, treat each other equally and help each other in hard times, regardless of any change in the international arena. The all-weather friendship stands firm as rock and has taken deep root in the hearts of our two peoples. The Consul General vowed to further strengthen Pak-China friendship.

A troupe of Confucius Institute Karachi University performed a cultural dance which was well appreciated by the audience. The national anthems of both brotherly nations were played followed by cake cutting.

Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh responded sentimentally, saying; “Pakistan is very fortunate to have a friend like China who has always stood by us through thick and thin. China has undertaken many projects in Pakistan under the umbrella of CPEC and is in the forefront in investing in Sindh.  Pakistan and China enjoy close cordial ties and are cooperating in many sectors.”

Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair also spoke on the importance of Sino-Pak ties and the projects underway in the province and their benefits for the people.
